Latvia Jewish Connections

Preserving our history for future generations

Latvia Jewish Connections was created to help preserve the memory of Latvian Jews and reconnect families today with their ancestors.

This site continues the valuable work of Christine Usdin who tirelessly translated records from the Latvian state archive and photographed and recorded thousands of tombstones and much more over many years while assisting other researchers. The passion of this artist and sculptor and her unique contribution within the field of Latvian Jewish geneology is warmly remembered in the eulogies by her peers following her sudden death in 2013.

Our hope is that this website will contribute to helping make this past relevant to the present and future generations for all peoples.
